It is just 50 km north of Durban, in the picturesque town of Ballito. Schools of playful dolphins are frequently sighted in the warm Indian Ocean, surfing along this beautiful stretch of coastline, with it's endless white sandy beaches. There are numerous golf courses in the vacinity as well as various other sporting facilities. Whether you are looking for a fancy seafood dinner, slap up meal, pub lunch or a take-away meal, there are restaurants, pubs and fast food outlets to suite everyone's tastebuds. This resort offers the best of both worlds - the peace and tranquillity of a sub-tropical forest, where trees and bird life abound completely undisturbed, and the convenience of a shopping centre across the road, for "within walking distance" shopping! We now boast our own Waterberry Coffee Shop, where light breakfasts, lunches and teas are served. Self Catering CottagesThere are eight two-bedroom cottages located in the resort. They sleep a maximum of six persons, the cottages are tastefully furnished and are fully equipped, you only have to bring beach towels and dishcloths. The main bedroom has a double bed and the 2nd bedroom two double bunks. The kitchen is fully equipped including a microwave oven, and there is a TV in the open plan lounge/kitchen area. Outside braai/garden area for each chalet. The cottages are serviced daily with floor and bathroom cleaning only! Just sit back and relax. Camping StandsDolphin Holiday Resort has 98 level caravan and camping sites with 15 amp plug points available. Some sites are also equipped with TV plug points, so why don't you just put up your feet up and relax? As an added bonus for privacy, shaded and secure stands are hedged, giving you the peace of mind expected from a top resort such as Dolphin Holiday Resort. The caravan and camping stands are spacious, so as to enable you to spread out and do your own thing. With beautiful trees and plants no wonder the bird life is so abundant here. Our well maintained tarred roads offer "no fuss no mud" camping, and the kids love to roller blade and cycle here too. ActivitiesDolphin Holiday Resort has an activity for everyone: Play a game of Out Door Chess in the Resort, a game of Pool in our games room is part of every holiday, and meet new friends here. Table Tennis and darts in the Games Room, let the kids jump on our trampoline. We offer a sparkling pool with hours of crystal clean fun. For those needing a challenge play volley ball in our park on beach sand. The TV Room offers M-Net. Watch the Natal Sharks take on the world. Chicken Shack and Candy Cabin is a must for snacks and drinks, and then there is also the Tea Terrace tea garden. EnvironsThe Harold Johnson Nature Reserve further north incorporates the Ultimatum Tree where the British issued their Ultimatum to King Cetshwayo in 1878 and the ruins of Fort Pearson. The town of Ballito offers shopping, movies, night life and restaurants of your choice. |
