Dining

Wake up to a traditional farmhouse breakfast (full English) served on the verandah/dining room overlooking Ardmore’s extensive garden. Snacks and drinks can be ordered in our tea garden. Join your hosts and other guests for a lantern-lit, unpretentious four-course dinner with complimentary wine, served in our Yellowwood dining room (dress informal). Coffee/tea is served in the lounge after supper. Guests usually gather in the cosy pub or in the lounge prior to supper, (guests are welcome to bring their own drinks).

Activities on the farm

Ardmore is the home of the home dyed brightly coloured cotton weaving business called “African Loom”. We also have our own “Amangwe Craft Centre” which sells only locally made crafts, it has the largest known collection of traditional Amangwe Zulu beadwork. The internationally respected “Ardmore Ceramic Art Studio” is next to the Guesthouse.

About 50 local Zulu artists work in the studio, and more than 200 pieces can be seen in the Guest House. The above are all open 7 days a week. You can also enjoy swimming in our swimming pool, mountain biking and walks on the farm. We have a large farm dam with plenty of bass, so try your hand at fishing or go bird watching. (Basic mountain bikes are available to guests at no extra charge). Stroll up to the trig beacon on “Ardmore Hill”, 235m above us.
