ACTIVITIES & ATTRACTIONS:The Garden Route is one of the main tourist attractions in South Africa and stretches for +-400 km in a narrow band of 100km deep around the Cape Coast from the Tsitsikamma in the east to the Langeberg in the west. The many mild and sunny days are perfect for simply lazing on the beach, or for taking long walks along the stretches of pristine beach that the region is well known for. Or perhaps you’d prefer to embark on something more exhilarating, such as a beach, forest, or mountain hike. It is little known fact that the Garden Route’s lowest rainfalls occur during the months of June and July. The region has a temperate climate throughout the year and winters are generally mild, with average temperatures in the 20’s. Explore one of the many lagoons and lakes, or lose yourself in nature amid the grandeur of giant yellowwood or Milkwood trees in on of the indigenous forests. The bright flash of a wing could alert you to the sight of a shy Knysna Loerie - or one of the approximately 250 other species of bird making the region such a prime destination for bird lovers. WHALE WATCHING:There is also a time of year that the gentle giants of the sea, the Southern Right Whales come to play in our waters. Each year Southern right Whales migrate into the waters of the Southern Cape to calve and nurse their young. Metres from the shore they provide unsurpassed whale-watching opportunities. A total of 37 species of whales and dolphins frequent the waters. ACCREDITATIONS
