Set in acres of pristine indigenous forest, Teniqua Treetops offers you an experience that may be quietly life-changing. As your body slows to the rhythm of the African forest, your mind will get its chance to unwind and let go of the stresses and anxieties of city life. A holiday with us will relaunch you on the world relaxed, reinvigorated and rejuvenated.

ACCOMMODATION

Our tree houses offer a unique opportunity to sleep, eat and shower up in the forest canopy, surrounded by birdsong. Built on handcrafted platforms and situated in carefully chosen beauty spots, they have comfortable tented bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens, leafy luxury bathrooms with an inside and outside deck area. They are private, tranquil with spectacular mountain and gorge views. All treehouses are serviced daily.

Electric blankets allow you to snuggle up on those rare cooler winter evenings.
A wheelchair friendly unit is also available.

Chill out on the wooden deck of our swimming complex perched high on the hill, the converted farm dams and balancing beam are fun for both kids and adults. Adjacent to the pools is a fun entertainment area, for those more social times.

CONFERENCES

We have a fully equipped, overnight conference facility catering for up to 20 people.

ATTRACTIONS & ACTIVITIES

Giant 1000-year-old milkwood trees, towering yellowwoods, candlewoods and saffrons are the treasures of the forest. Wonderful forest and river walks allow you to experience the exotic bird life: Knysna Louries and Knysna Woodpeckers, Burchell’s Coucals, Orioles, Sunbirds, Herons and a variety of raptors to name just a few. Then, there is always an array of fanciful butterflies.

You may see some of the shy forest creatures, bushbuck, duiker, porcupines and their friends. And then there is the elusive Knysna elephant. There are thought to be only five left and one was recently spotted just 10 km away. Dive into the cola-coloured water of a remote and unspoilt river, picnic on its beautiful banks and explore the deep forested gorge.

Tread lightly at Teniqua. Just a tiny fraction of South Africa retains its original forests. Alien substances such as cigarette butts, cosmetics, insecticides and even invader trees threaten its survival. But eco-tourists like you can help preserve this awesome legacy.

Teniqua Treetops is situated along the magical Garden Route, at the foothills of the ancient Outeniqua Mountains. The area is virtually crime-free. We are 30 minutes from Knysna. 20 minutes from Sedgefield and 15 minutes from the beach.

It is 15 minutes by car to the sandstone caves of Sedgefield's famous beaches. Cyclists, horse riders, paragliders and water-skiers will all find places to play close by. While craft, produce and dinner markets provide retail therapy.
