DESCRIPTION:

Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve, incorporating Rhino Base Camp, is a private game reserve, comprising of 1300ha of indigenous beauty, 15 minutes from Plettenberg Bay on the Garden Route. The farm is home to over 35 species of game, including rhino, lion, giraffe, hippo, buffalo and a large variety of antelope, which can be viewed from the safety of a safari vehicle or on horseback.

Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve is 20 kilometers from the jewel of the Garden Route, Plettenberg Bay. The closest airport is George which is 1 hour away. Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve, only 4 hours drive from Cape Town, is situated in the mountains and the vegetation is mostly savannah.

ACCOMMODATION


THE BARONESS
This is a unique, luxury lodge consisting of 7 en-suite spacious double bedrooms with king size beds and 1 family suite, consisting of 2 spacious bedrooms and a shared bathroom. There is a plunge pool and an open dining area with stunning views.

The lodge offers a comfortable living area with fireplace and a games room with full snooker table. Meals are prepared in a large kitchen open to the dining room, which boasts a fireplace and a pizza oven or, weather permitting, in the open dining boma. The house overlooks a dam and lush garden and has a plunge pool with a view over these.

Facilities


The reception area, from which all activities depart, has a well stocked bar which serves light meals. The reception has comfortable couches in front of 2 roaring fireplaces, and has tables and chairs on an open plan stoep overlooking the horse paddocks next to a children’s play area.

ACTIVITIES
Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve offers 2 hour game drives, 2 hour horse safaris and 2 hour walking tours. Plettenberg Bay, 20kms away, offers a host of activities.

DIRECTIONS:

From Cape Town:
Take the N2 towards Port Elizabeth. Take the R340 to Wittedrift / Uniondale which runs North between the Keurbooms and Bitou Rivers, by turning left off the N2, approximately 5km past Plettenberg Bay, after the Bitou River.

From Port Elizabeth:
Travel along the N2 towards Cape Town, just before Plett take the R340 to Wittedrift/Uniondale by turning right after the Keurbooms River, 5 km before Plettenberg Bay. Follow the Rhino Base Camp signs to the farm, which is a further 12km along this road.
