J&C’s Beach House, B&B, Brenton on Sea - the hidden jewel of Knysna. J&C’s Beach House is a very pretty white Cape Cod style guest house in a quiet road overlooking the Indian Ocean, only a few minutes walk from the lovely golden Brenton beach (5km long).

Although we offer a sumptuous breakfast, J&C’s Beach House is the only luxury standard B&B in Brenton on Sea with light catering facilities in every studio room to offer guests flexibility for lazy evenings “dining-in”.

Accommodation


J&C’s Beach House offers:
Four well appointed en-suite studio rooms with balconies and views of the pretty tropical garden and swimming pool furnished to a very high standard. One honeymoon / deluxe studio room with wonderful sea and village views from balconies on three sides and spa bath. All of our studio rooms are very spacious with balconies and have large luxurious en-suite bathrooms with walk in shower, and separate bath.

Each room has TV, CD / radio and a small neat kitchenette area for light self catering containing fridge, basin, kettle, toaster, microwave, table ware etc and a kettle BBQ for relaxing evenings on the balcony. We provide bath-robes, beach towels, hair dryers, heaters, hot water bottles, bottled water, candles etc. in each room.

Facilities


The guest lounge and dining areas, including the breakfast deck, are sunny and spacious with views out to the Indian Ocean. Guests may have a drink and enjoy the sunset on the outside deck or lawn in warm weather. Breakfast is served outside in season weather permitting.

We have a lovely sheltered pool and sun decks situated in the pretty tropical garden.

Attractions & Activities


There are several good restaurants within the Brenton area and a popular licensed café / bistro near to the beach. We are approximately 15 minutes scenic drive around the lagoon from Knysna with bars, restaurants, shops and the Waterfront marina. There are lovely beach and forest walks, horse-riding, sailing and golf (which we can arrange) are all close by.

We are ideally situated as a mid point on the Garden Route to take day trips to places of beauty and interest or just spend a few days relaxing in the sun on the beach or by the pool.

Brenton on Sea is a pretty unspoilt village nestling between the Indian Ocean and the hills of Knysna’s West Head. It is very green with indigenous flowers, trees and fynbos with buck, guinea fowl, meerkat and wild tortoise roaming freely. In spring and autumn, Brenton’s very own butterfly - the Brenton Blue - is visible, found nowhere else in the world other than Brenton-on-Sea.

From both J&C’s Beach House and the cliff tops on the coastal paths, dolphins and whales (in season) can often be seen. Fishing boats and sailing yachts frequent the bay. Brenton is indeed one of the Garden Route’s hidden jewels.

DIRECTIONS:

From Port Elizabeth (East – West):
Travel on the N2 through Knysna towards George.
Immediately after crossing the causeway (White Bridge), take a right turn following the signs to Brenton and Belvidere. The road bends back under the N2.
Continue up the hill into Brenton (approximately 6km).
Ignore the first sign to J&C Beach House and follow C.R.Swart Road round the bend until you start to descend towards the beach.
First right is Watsonia Avenue. A sign points to J&C Beach House.
Go to the very end (approximately 1km)
J&C Beach House is number 116 - our white Cape Cod style house is the last house on the right on Watsonia overlooking the sea. A sign is outside.

From George (West - East):
Travel on the N2 towards Knysna. Before crossing the lagoon causeway bridge, take a left hand turn following the sign for Brenton and Belvidere. Follow directions as above.
