George Lodge International is a landmark guesthouse in the bustling town of George, a favourite holiday destination on South Africa’s beautiful Garden Route. After two decades it has established an enviable reputation as one of the most popular accommodation establishments in the area for business people, conference delegates and holidaymakers who want a convenient location, stylish accommodation, excellent facilities, warm hospitality and attentive service.

George Lodge International offers the perfect base to explore the Garden Route. With its private oak-lined garden, swimming pool, poolside patio and deck with stunning views of the Outeniqua Mountains, it provides a comfortable and affordable home-away-from-home for business people, and couples and families on vacation.

Guests can choose between B&B and self-catering accommodation in stylish, individually decorated rooms. Breakfast for B&B guests consists of a delicious Continental buffet followed by a cooked breakfast option. For dinner, we can recommend excellent restaurants close by.

ACCOMMODATION

All the rooms at George Lodge International have been individually decorated in different styles and colour themes, with cottage furniture in natural wood and soft furnishings in elegant fabrics. Rooms are carpeted for comfort and have many personal touches. Some of the rooms have balconies or open onto small patios. All are airy, light and spacious.

Each room is equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, a landline telephone with Internet access, extra blankets, a heater and fan, as well as a television with satellite TV including M-Net and some DStv channels.

Choose from one of our 22 en-suite rooms with either a bath or shower, or a self-catering suite with a kitchenette.

Single Rooms
Single rooms have either two twin beds or a double bed.

Double Rooms
Double rooms have either two twin beds or a double bed. One of the double rooms has a kitchenette for self-catering purposes.

Family Rooms
Family rooms have either three twin beds or a double bed and a single bed. Two of the family rooms have kitchenettes for self-catering purposes.

Rooms with Kitchenette
If you prefer a self-catering holiday, choose one of our double rooms or a family room, which sleeps three, with a fully equipped kitchenette.

FUNCTIONS

The Lodge has superb facilities for small weddings, special events, conferences and corporate functions. With our modern amenities and experienced staff, we are well equipped to coordinate conferences and events and can provide a full catering service for these functions.

We will set the scene for your fairytale wedding or special event, transforming our Banquet Hall or conference rooms with stunning décor, lights, candles and beautiful table and glassware. What better venue for an intimate wedding or celebration, against the backdrop of the Outeniqua Mountains, and with a team of experienced co-ordinators to ensure that every detail is attended to so that you can enjoy a stress-free event. Our beautiful garden will provide plenty of photo opportunities!

From meetings, seminars, corporate events and functions, George Lodge International offers the ideal venue if you have business in mind. Our conference rooms are equipped with standard conferencing equipment and menus can be customised to suit your budget and the delegates' requirements.

The newly-opened Curio Shop, Info Hub and Business Centre add to the excellent on-site facilities for guests. The Curio Shop is stocked with carefully selected souvenirs of your visit to Africa, including home-made soaps and locally-crafted wire items and which have been tailor-made for the Lodge.

Spend some time in our comfortable Info Hub with its interesting displays and photographs, where guests have access to carefully researched information about George and the Garden Route area, including restaurants, excursions and activities, which we will gladly book for you. We have collated beautiful information packs with brochures and maps to assist you to plan your daily itineraries.

Our brand new Business Centre offers business and leisure guests the opportunity to keep in touch with associates, friends and family in a quiet and private environment. Use of our computer is complimentary for all our guests who can also make use of the fax and photocopying machine at reception.

There is ample off street parking for guests as well as security gates on all the entrances to the rooms. Your security is enhanced with CCTV on the property.

AREA INFORMATION

George is the largest of the many quaint towns on South Africa’s Garden Route coast, one of the most scenic stretches of coastline in the world. With its numerous lakes and mountain ranges, beaches and bays, the landscape also features indigenous forests, amber-coloured rivers and fields of fynbos (the indigenous vegetation). This natural wonderland boasts many bird and wildlife species and offers visitors a host of leisure options and adventure activities.

We are within easy driving distance of Wilderness, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay, as well as the villages and towns along Cape Route 62, including Bonnievale, Robertson, Calitzdorp and Oudtshoorn.
