DESCRIPTION:

Fynbos Ridge offers five star accommodation in a Private Nature Reserve with spectacular mountain views in the heart of South Africa's Garden Route. You have a choice of either the Cape colonial style Country House or the award winning self-catering cottages.

Fynbos Ridge is located between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay in the heart of South Africa's Garden Route, renowned for its indigenous forests and superb beaches. Nestling in 6 hectares of fynbos (Cape flora) with magnificent views of the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma mountains, Fynbos Ridge offers self-contained, fully serviced accommodation in Plettenberg Bay in a limited number of Cape country cottages.

Nature lovers will be enchanted by the beautiful fynbos which attracts a wide variety of birds and butterflies. Whales, dolphins, seals and penguins can often be spotted in the local bays. Fynbos Ridge offers a unique holiday experience to those looking for luxury with tranquility, but within easy distance of all the attractions the area has to offer.

ACCOMMODATION

The Country House:
The Country House is on the same property as Fynbos Ridge Cottages. It is a large Cape Dutch design guest house and has 5 double bedrooms with full en suite bathrooms, a dining room where breakfast will be served and dinners on request. Both the formal and informal lounges have fireplaces and there is a very long outdoor patio where guests can enjoy mountain views whilst having their breakfasts and dinners. Two of our double bedrooms have king-size beds and three of our other double bedrooms have 2 x 3-Quarter beds which can either be made up separately or together creating large king-size beds whichever is preferred.

The Cottages:
At present we have three two-bedroom cottages. Each spacious cottage (140 sq. metres) is well equipped, has two bathrooms and sleeps up to 6 people in luxury and comfort. Apart from the tasteful furnishings, there are log fires in the lounge and main bedroom for the cooler evenings, as well as a private patio with a built-in barbecue. Each cottage, and the studio apartment, is named after one of our beautiful indigenous flowers.

The Studio:
The equally well appointed one-bedroom Virgilia Studio is situated in an upstairs wing of the Country House. It has its own private entrance, queen-size bed, bathroom with bath and shower, a fully equipped kitchen and a balcony with barbecue. Spacious and exceedingly comfortable, it offers an alternative to singles and couples not requiring the extra accommodation offered by the cottages.

Although our cottages and studio apartment are fully equipped for self-catering, breakfasts are available by arrangement in our Country House.

DINING & CATERING

Although we call it 'self-catering', at Fynbos Ridge we offer you a variety of catering options. We provide substantial and delicious continental breakfasts on request. We can also arrange to have a variety of fresh or frozen meals delivered to your cottage.

In typical Fynbos Ridge tradition, we are happy to do any basic shopping you require prior to your arrival. Plettenberg Bay boasts a wide variety of excellent restaurants and it is our pleasure to recommend and make bookings for you.
