Set in the foothills of the magnificent Outeniqua Mountains and surrounded by the unspoiled beaches of the Indian Ocean, Botlierskop Private Game Reserve ensures a truly unique safari experience. Botlierskop Private Game Reserve is an exceptional place for a day visit; get away, special functions, theme evenings or even intimate and exotic weddings.

The reserve is situated on a 3000ha game farm and comprises of over 26 different species of animals and a wide variety of birds. Wildlife at the reserve includes the rare black Impala, Rhino, Lion, Buffalo, Giraffe, Mountain Zebra and Eland.

ACCOMMODATION:


Each of the 15 luxury air-conditioned tented suites at Botlierskop is elegantly decorated in a romantic colonial theme with 4-poster beds draped with mosquito nets. The en-suite bathrooms are lavishly equipped with deep baths and the outdoor bush showers ensure stunning views.

Luxury rooms:
Luxury tented suites on private wooden decks with breathtaking views and mountainous surroundings. Elegantly decorated in colonial style with 4-poster beds and mosquito nets. Fully equipped with mini bar, coffee and tea facilities, telephone and a safe. The en-suite bathroom is lavishly equipped with deep baths and outdoor bush shower.

Deluxe rooms:
These deluxe tented suites with private wooden decks are situated on the river's edge with stunning views of the river and mountainous surroundings as well as a private jetty from which the guests can try their hand at fishing. The rooms have their own private outdoor bush shower as well as an en-suite bathroom with a deep oval bath. Fully equipped with mini bar, coffee & tea facilities, telephone and a safe.

Executive / Family Suites:
These spacious executive en-suite rooms with separate large lounge area are elegantly decorated in colonial style with 4-poster beds and mosquito nets and on the river's edge, with the picturesque Outeniqua mountains as a backdrop. Theses rooms are fully equipped with mini bar, coffee & tea facilities, telephone and a safe. The en-suite bathroom is lavishly equipped with deep baths and outdoor bush shower. You can also relax next to your own private splash pool. To round off you day, relax in your hammock while watching the sunset. Perfect for a honeymoon!

All suites are equipped with a mini bar, telephone and most have their own private jetty from which guests can try their hands at fishing. High-raised wooden walkways connect most of the tents to the main lodge and lounge area. The Fireplace restaurant provides guests with authentic South African meals, served in ambient settings.

DINING:


The Fire Place is a 100 seater restaurant, and is designed to accommodate and spoil guests without compromising on intimacy and comfort. To further enhance the experience, locally produced life entertainment in the form of a pianist or African dancers can be arranged. Both of these are highly recommended and add to the uniqueness and special memories.

GAME DRIVES:


Botlierskop is a well stocked, free roaming private game reserve, which gives visitors the opportunity to view African wildlife from the safety of 4x4 vehicles, in its natural habitat. Rhino's, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, eland, bontebuck and 26 more species, make up a total of more than 1800 animals. We are also proud of our relationship with the IFAW, which enabled us to assist in the rescue of 4 African lions, which are also seen during the game drive.

In our Robinson R44 Raven II enjoy shark viewing and scenic flights to endless destinations.

Elephant back rides:
Experience the real African thrill on elephant back for one hour.

Horseback safaris:
Saddle up for a horseback safari and escape to the majestic mountain valleys and beautiful fynbos for 1, 2 or 3 hours and experience nature like never before.

LOCATION:


Botlierskop is easily accessible from Cape Town, a 4 hour scenic drive and lies in the world renowned Garden Route, just of the N2. The reserve is set in a malaria-free area and is in close proximity to George Airport, a 25 minute drive.

DIRECTIONS:

Stay on the N2 from cape town. Pass the following exit: Hartenbos (Exit 397). Take the Klein Brakrivier / Little Brak River (Exit 401). Turn Left at STOP. ± 500 m T-junction: Follow our brown Botlierskop signboard with the lion footprint, from this point. Turn Right. ±4km ahead: go over causeway,200m after causeway, turn Right at our brown Botlierskop signboard, onto the Gannakraal road. ± 4km on Gonnakraal road, see earthdam on right, turn Right after earthdam at white pillar gate: Botlierskop.
