Whispering Oaks invites you to savour the old world charm of our beautiful region in George on the Garden Route, Western Cape.
Situated in an established and historically rich suburban area of George, Whispering Oaks is suitable for business or leisure and offers visitors luxurious guest house accommodation with all the modern-day amenities and special guests' comforts.
Guests are within easy reach of the airport and only a few minute's drive to the beachfront of Victoria Bay. With the Botanical Gardens and renowned Railway Museum nearby visitors often find themselves exploring the captivating history of forestry in George and our many historic sites is well worth a visit for anyone.
Accommodation
The Guest House is furnished with antique furniture and a large collection of original art can be enjoyed by everyone. This includes one of the Hosts own work and a portrait of their grand children hangs proudly in every room named after them.
Albert Room 1:
A polished wooden staircase leads to this very spacious room upstairs. Enjoy the beautiful view over the Mountains and Oak trees or just relax in the afternoon sun. The room has a working antique fire place and King Size bed. The bathroom is equipped with a bath and shower. The room is adjacent and accessible to the Daniel Suite, which together provides for a very popular family unit.
Mia Room 2:
One of the rooms upstairs with polished wooden floors and decorated in cool and relaxing shades of green. The perfect view over the Outeniqua Mountains will make you feel right at home. The bathroom offers a shower. The King Size bed will assure a well deserved rest. A small refrigerator with a coffee corner is just outside the room.
Marinι Room 3:
A downstairs bedroom with twin beds and its own entrance. This room is perfect for business or students needing a large desktop work area. The bathroom offers a shower and its own little courtyard makes it a favourite for more privacy.
Anke Room 4:
On the ground floor and suitable for a couple or a single. Twin beds and a private entrance make it ideal for sharing with friends. The bathroom offers a bath and shower. The room has access to the large stoep with a guest lounge just upstairs. A comfortable desk allows one to catch up on writing home (and telling them about your wonderful stay!).
Carla Room 5:
Suitable for a couple or a single; twin beds make it ideal for sharing. The room pens out towards the garden and swimming pool and provides access to the reading lounge upstairs. The bathroom offers a bath and shower.
Nicholas Room 6:
A self-catering room that opens out onto the well-kept gardens next to the swimming pool. The bathroom with shower and a small kitchenette is suitable for a couple or a single. The desk-area overlooks the garden and a security door (private entrance) allows guests to enjoy the evening breeze.
Bianca Room 7:
A self-catering room that opens out onto the well-kept gardens next to the swimming pool. The bathroom with shower and a small kitchenette is suitable for a couple or a single.
Daniel Room 8:
Two twin beds and a cot. Here you can relax on the balcony overlooking the large garden and swimming pool.

DIRECTIONS:
From Knysna:
Coming into George you will drive past the Garden Route Mall on your left. Follow the road into town. This is Courtnay Street. Drive until you come to the traffic circle in front of the George Museum. Drive around the circle and take the first turn-off to your right after the circle. This is Caledon Street. Whispering Oaks is number 18 on your right hand side.
From Cape Town:
Take the York Street turn-off from the N2. Follow York Street all the way up to the traffic circle in front off the George Museum. Turn to your left and at the first turn-off to your right. This is Caledon Street. Whispering Oaks is number 18 on your right hand side.
From Oudtshoorn:
Follow the N12 until you get to the traffic circle at the George Hospital where the road forks; keep to the left (Davidson Road). The fourth turn off to your left is Caledon Street. Whispering Oaks is number 18 on your right hand side.
From the Airport:
When leaving the airport turn to your left. At the Stop, turn to your right and follow the road until you get to the traffic circle. Turn left into York Street. Follow York Street all the way up to the traffic circle in front off the George Museum. Turn to your left and at the first turn-off to your right. This is Caledon Street. Whispering Oaks is number 18 on your right hand side.
