Barely five minutes outside of bustling Pietermaritzburg youíll find a place to escape the city-scapes, relax, unwind and fully submerge yourself into a wonderfully maintained golf course, country club and ecological habitat.
Victoria Country Club is situated in the verdant parklands and, due to its location beside the Queen Elizabeth Nature Reserve, abounds in wildlife with the truly remarkable Crowned Eagles, African Goshawks, Black Sparrow hawks and nesting Thick Billed Weavers all resident on the grounds. Local Impala and Duiker roam the course too and really enhance the already incredible views of the emerald-green surrounding escarpments.
The course itself is exceptionally handsome and is lined with tall trees, year-round green fairways, sculpted bunkers and a host of water features. All 6156m of this Par 71 are a true testament to Golf Dataís architectural prowess. The upgrades, conducted prior to re-opening in 2007, have really catapulted this course into one of South Africaís must-plays for avid golfers.
Golfing facilities are top notch and the country club also provides world-class conference, function and dining facilities, up-market accommodation, squash, tennis and swimming.
