Just 140 kilometres north of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal, the rolling hills of Zululand are home to the Mtunzini Country Golf Club. This is an 18-hole, SAGA-affiliated golf course that offers magnificent views of the surrounding greenery of the eastern coast of South Africa, as well as stunning views of the ocean and the Umlalazi Estuary. It was established in 1958.
These scenic fairways are flanked by indigenous vegetation. This not only adds to their natural splendour, but also necessitates an accurate tee-off to avoid losing your ball. These bushes and trees are home to a number of animals, including the elusive duiker, and many bird species. Such gorgeous surrounds make a day spent on the fairways particularly special.
In addition to the course, the Mtunzini Country Club has a practice tee and a practice green, as well as caddies and golf carts for hire. The country club offers both members and non-members other sporting facilities too; including a gym, tennis court and squash court. This makes Mtunzini a great place for those visiting the area and wanting to get the most out of the beautiful sunshine and clear country air.
