Modderfontein Golf Course, Edenvale, Gauteng

Golf Course Drive, Modderfontein, Johannesburg / Modderfontein Golf Course has Kikuyu fairways and bent grass greens. Water comes into play on 11 of the 18 holes. The club has had a top 20 rating from Compleat Golf Magazine.

Modderfontein Golf Club is situated on the East Rand in the Edenvale Municipal area, close to OR Tambo International Airport and all the major freeways. The championship course has been host to all the major amateur tournaments including the National Inter-Provincial in 1998. The Clubhouse itself, was rebuilt in 1997, and features all the most modern facilities together with spacious parking areas. The 6568 metre course is located in a beautiful setting with nine holes either alongside or crossing dams and streams.

Signature Hole
The 12th - A downhill par 4 with out of bounds down the right hand side. A good tee shot leaves the player a intimidating approach over a large dam. There are no bunkers protecting the green.

The 13th - A dogleg left par 5 with out of bounds running down the right hand side. Your tee shot should favour the right hand side of the fairway, to give yourself an angle to the green. The green has water in the front and on the right, and a bunker on the front left.

The 18th - An elevated tee shot greets the player on the final hole. The stream marks the out of bounds line, and there is a fairway bunker on the right to catch players. The green has water in the front and steep slopes on the right hand side which can aid the player.
