Hoedspruit is a small town that is nestled between the Kruger National Park and the spectacular Blyde River Canyon. While little, it welcomes many tourists every year, thanks to its natural splendour and its prime positioning. It is also home to the Drakensig Golf Club, which is situated at the Air Force Base.
This golf course is open all year round, from Monday to Sunday, and visitors are welcome any day. It is characterised by an abundance of trees and the bird species that these attract. For this reason, golfers are invited to bring their binoculars along and get the most out of their time on the greens and fairways. The natural variety of this part of South Africa is also testified to by the many little animals that meander along the course, sharing their habitat with the golfers.
The clubhouse at Drakensig faces down the 18th tee, and boasts stunning views of the Drakensberg Mountains in the distance. This is just about the perfect way to end off a game with friends or business associates in the warm Limpopo sunshine.
There is a small pro shop here that is well stocked, and golf carts are available to hire. The driving range is perfect for those wanting some practice or golfers that are on a strict time limit.
