DESCRIPTION:

Origins Guest House offers country accommodation near the Cradle of Humankind. Guests often choose to stay at Origins in order to attend a function or wedding at one of the nearby venues, or for a weekend or holiday away to explore the Cradle of Humankind and Crocodile Ramble area.

Our secure, private 3.5Ha country premises consists of a sprawling, 1000+sqm building, a back garden with pine forest and patio, a front garden with lawn, water features and lights. A large part of the property is natural and wild veld, housing numerous small animals, including hedgehogs, frogs, lizards, bats, snakes, birds, guinea fowls, turtles, frogs and others. These often, unfortunately, refuse to stay out of the rooms. The weeds and blackjacks regularly get the better of the gardener. There are power failures. Management and staff experience intermittent sense of humour failures. Everyone refuses to answer the phone.

But it’s not all bad news at Origins. Our rooms are extra large and nicely decorated. The double beds are extra length queen size with percale linen. The rooms have TVs and interesting DVDs to watch. The bathrooms are spacious. The geographical position is accessible and convenient. The staff and other animals are normally friendly and helpful (if you can find them).

If you want hassle-free, good value accommodation we would be delighted to have you over. Wedding guests, wedding parties, tourists and weekenders are most welcome. Make yourself at home. After all, everything else around here does.
