AccommodationThe guesthouse has four superbly comfortable and tastefully decorated en-suite rooms, each with its own private entrance. Soothing neutral colours and wooden floors make one feel totally at home. The wonderful mix of stone colours along with French blue shutters makes one wonder whether to sit inside or outside and enjoy the view! Breakfast & DiningA generous full English or continental breakfast is served in the tranquil dining room adjacent to the living room. A two-course, home-cooked dinner is available on request. Over a glass of wine or a cup of coffee, guests are invited to enjoy the warm and cosy fireside in the winter. Free tea and coffee throughout the day and delicious home baked rusks and cakes! Guest House FacilitiesGuests enter Maison Bordeaux through typically French double doors. The inviting and informally decorated entrance hall and covered veranda overlook the rectangular stone pond with fountains and the garden beyond. An abundance of water features make one think they are far from any city in the garden full of bird life. Established trees, lavender, roses and a shaded gravel circle invite guests to linger outside on sunny days and summer evenings. Comfortable loungers are scattered around the garden enabling one to enjoy a late evening sunset and cool drink surrounded by the water sounds. Secure Parking is available on site. The owners are living off site but on the adjacent property so are just a shout away. Maison Bordeaux has broadband internet access and DSTV is available in each room. Well lit desks enable the business workers to continue their days work without having to leave ones room. All business and holiday guests have optimal independence and privacy. Activities and AttractionsMaison Bordeaux is the ideal base from which to explore Johannesburg. Shopping, restaurants and cinemas at Sandton City, Hyde Park and Rosebank Mall are accessible within minutes. The Johannesburg Zoo and Zoo lake are a short drive away. Day trips to the Lion Park, Soweto, the African Markets nearby, the theatre or bird park at Montecasino, and the Cradle of Humankind are easily organized.
