DESCRIPTION:

Hakunamatata which means "No Problem" is situated 30 minutes from Johannesburg and Pretoria in the Muldersdrift / Honeydew area, near the Cradle of Humankind. Our fully secured 21 acre estate features luxury accommodation, a fully staffed health spa, conference and wedding facilities.

Set in rolling lawns with water features where indigenous birds abound, filled with trees and fragrant flowers we invite you to experience the ultimate in exclusivity at a country estate with a difference. Our décor boasts a combination of ultra – modern and African flair, original ethnic artefacts and paintings.

Rustic elements include African prints, recycled glass, wrought iron, thatch and carved wood. At night, the light of burning torches and the tranquillity of the Highveld countryside enhances this most picturesque African rural setting.

ACCOMMODATION

We offer 12 Luxury four star accommodation including two self catering units on the 21 acre property with each their own characteristics. They are all equipped with DSTV, en suite bathrooms and veranda overlooking lush gardens and large pond. Some are equipped with a fireplace, jet bath for two or outside showers. Two of our chalets are self catering.

HEALTH SPA

In our idyllic surroundings, our health spa offers guests a variety of relaxation therapies. Guests are welcome to spend the day or come for overnight spa packages, some of which treatments are given under a thatched lapa outdoors.

CONFERENCES / FUNCTIONS

For your conference, we offer a choice of seven venues seating from 4 to 150 delegates depending on your requirements and the room selected. Our breakaway rooms provide the ultimate in understated elegance and atmosphere for guests to study or exchange ideas. We cater for full day, half day or 24h conferences.

WEDDINGS

Three different venues are available plus a large terrace area to host your special day.
We cater from 40 to 150 guests or 300 guests for a casual set-up. Your special day! The garden, under the cooling thatch of our blue skies dining deck or in our beautifully decorated Egret room. Morning, afternoon or evening, say yes. The venue is exclusively yours and your wedding guests’.

SUNDAY LUNCH

Enjoy our A la carte menu (kiddies menu available) every Sunday in the tranquillity of the country on our terrace amidst majestic old trees, rolling lawns, ponds and streams.
We offer entertainment with live singing (on special occasions that fall over Sundays) and jumping castle for the little ones to be kept busy all day!

eVENTS

Hakunamatata never sleeps! Every month is a celebration month from Easter, Mother’s day, Christmas in July, Beer festival to wine and whisky tasting events to keep you entertained all seasons of the year!

We take this opportunity to give back to the community – for each event organised, a portion of the income goes back to our community by means of kitchen soups, blankets and monetary sponsors for the education of those less privileged. ATTRACTIONS

Local attractions such as the Lion Park, Botanical gardens, two game reserves and of course the Cradle of Humankind with the Sterkfontein caves are in close proximity.

SPORTS

For sports enthusiasts there are six golf courses within 20 minutes drive, a golf range, hot air ballooning and trout fishing, tennis, squash, gym and horse riding facilities are easily accessible. For the shopping enthusiasts, we are within 10 – 15 minutes from five major shopping centres.
