At 33 On First we will certainly do our best to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. AccommodationWe have 6 large stylishly decorated rooms: 3 double rooms and 3 twin rooms. All rooms have tea / coffee making facilities, ceiling fans, air-conditioning, heating, telephones, DsTV and own bathrooms. The 2 outside rooms, numbers 6 and 7, (both twin rooms) have their own entrances. Exceptionally comfortable beds with high quality white percale linen. Liquid hand soap, shower gel and shampoo are included in the bathrooms. BreakfastBreakfast is served from 7am to 9am on weekdays, and from 8am to 10am on weekends and public holidays. Breakfast consists of fruit juice, yoghurts, fresh fruit salad, a selection of 5 cereals, bread, muffins, scones, bread rolls, croissants, cheese, jams and butter. Eggs to order with bacon and / or sausage. Help yourself to a variety of teas and filter coffee. FacilitiesWireless internet is available for your laptop, as well as a PC in the main house for your convenience. Relax in the garden next to the pool, or have a drink on the verandah or under the Lapa. An honesty bar with soft drinks, beers and wine is available in the house. Parking for your car is off street, secure and safe. LocationThe guesthouse is just round the corner from Main Road, Melville. It’s safe and easy to walk to Campus Square Shopping Centre, or to a fair number of eating places a few minutes away. Should you wish to experience a wide variety of restaurants, why not take a leisurely stroll to 7th Street, the hub of eating establishments, as well as the centre of night life in Melville. Melville is also easily accessed to / from the freeways leading to O.R. Tambo International Airport, as well as Sandton / Pretoria. Tours and transportShuttle transport can be arranged to take you to / from the airport. Tours are available to view the city, a visit to Soweto, the Apartheid Museum or Gold Reef City. Trips outside of the city include the Lion Park, Cradle of Humankind, or to Pilanesberg Game Reserve. Other attractionsIf you feel like a brisk walk, Melville Koppies Nature Reserve is only a few minutes away. Emmarentia Botanical Gardens, Mandela Bridge and Johannesburg Art Gallery are all worth a visit. The Sunday market at the Rosebank Mall is a must for stocking up on African arts and crafts or for gifts to take back home. The University of Johannesburg is one street block away and University of the Witwatersrand about 10 minutes by car. A fitness centre with weight training and cardio facilities is across the road. |

DIRECTIONS: From OR Tambo International Airport When leaving the airport take the Johannesburg Road. Then follow these signs: R24 -N3 Durban - M2 Johannesburg - M1 Pretoria / Sandton. At this point, move over to the left lane, and take the Empire Rd turn off. Turn left into Empire Rd. Carry on with Empire until it runs into the SABC building (like a T-junction). At this intersection turn right and cross over 3 sets of traffic lights. Turn right into University Rd (Campus square shopping centre is on your right). Pass McDonalds (on your left).
