But even if you want to swim we offer you the possibility to swim (or fish) in our dam right in front of our fully equipped and tastefully decorated cottage. We offer you a rustic and private farmstay in a scenic, quiet and interesting area. And for the adventure enthusiast, the area around Ficksburg has many activities to get your blood pumping. For those who want to enjoy the cultural side of the Eastern Freestate, there are innumerable places of interest. Walkabout Estate can be recommended as a good base from which you can explore the Eastern Free State as well as Lesotho. Walkabout Estate is a tranquil place ideal for a relaxing get-away in a rural environment far away from the hustle and bustle. ACCOMMODATIONThe Self Catering Cottage: A sandstone, thatched cottage, fully equipped for self catering, sleeping 6 (2 single beds with extra length in bedroom, 2 single beds and a sleeper couch on first floor). Full bathroom, shaded parking, indoor and outdoor braai-facilities. It has DSTV (bring own card), Hi-Fi and is equipped with most appliances including microwave, towels, linen, etc. Guests can make their own arrangement with us for cleaning and household chores. There is a sunny wooden deck with great views and a spacy thatched braai/lapa. Private setting. North facing and sunny during winter. Ideal for longer stays. Self Catering Unit in the Farmhouse: A room with private entrance in the sandstone farmhouse. Fully equipped for self catering. Sleeps 4 (1 double bed and 1 bunkbed). Private bathroom en-suite with toilet, basin and bath. Outdoor braai-facilities on terrace in park-like garden. Free coffee and tea. Dinner and breakfast available by arrangement. |
