DESCRIPTION:

Hillside Cottage and Apricot Lane Cottage are two charming double storey cottages in the Swartland of Clarens which comfortably sleep 8 people each. The ‘Swartland suburb’ of Clarens is a residential area five minutes walk from the town square with large properties, wide expansive views, and surrounded by mountains. The scenery is spectacular and the surroundings, peaceful.

ACCOMMODATION:

HILLSIDE COTTAGE
Situated at the end of Swart Street in a cul-de-sac, Hillside Cottage is the ideal ‘getaway’ place for times of relaxation and rest. A spacious covered patio with outdoor furniture and braai facilities welcomes guests to the home. Double patio doors then lead into the comfortable lounge complete with fireplace and TV (with ‘guesthouse’ DSTV package). From the lounge, a large dining room and an open plan kitchen is situated. The fully self catering kitchen is fitted with every modern appliance including, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, stove, oven, microwave oven, kettle and toaster.

Hillside Cottage sleeps eight people. Behind the kitchen, a downstairs bedroom with a queen double bed and a separate downstairs toilet, hand basin and shower is situated. A small flight of stairs take one to the upper level of the house, where the main bedroom complete with double bed is placed. A third bedroom with four single beds allows for large family groups. In between the bedrooms, a second bathroom is found with toilet, hand basin and bath. All linen and towels are provided. Every bed has hot water bottles and extra blankets for cold nights and the double bed has an electric blanket.

Off-road undercover parking is provided for two vehicles on the property. In front of the house, there is a double terrace garden with lots of space to kick a ball and have children’s games, as well as a trampoline and jungle gym.

APRICOT LANE COTTAGE
This cottage is equally as homely and well-equipped as Hillside Cottage. Situated on the same large property, it also sleeps eight people and can be hired separately to Hillside Cottage. A paved driveway lined with Apricot trees welcomes the guests to the cottage. There is undercover parking for two cars, and open space for a third car if necessary. A covered patio, complete with outdoor furniture and a portable braai, makes for great outdoor living. From there, enter into a lounge and open plan kitchen, complete with table and chairs for family mealtimes. The lounge has a fire place and TV with DSTV ‘Guesthouse’ viewing. The kitchen is fully self catering with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, stove, oven, microwave oven, kettle and toaster.

Two bedrooms, each with a double bed are situated downstairs, as well as two bathrooms, one with basin, toilet and bath, and the other with basin, toilet and shower. From the lounge area, a short flight of stairs, takes one to the third bedroom upstairs, where four single beds are situated. All linen and towels are provided. Every bed has hot water bottles and extra blankets for cold nights.

ACTIVITIES

Hillside Cottage is well situated for great walks around Clarens, whether up to the town square, or along the walking trails that have been laid out for hiking. Many of them have their starting points in and around the vicinity of the cottage. Visitors to Clarens have a variety of activities to choose from and they include, white water rafting, horse riding, quad biking, hiking, tennis, squash, trout fishing, art courses, golf, abseiling, mountain trails and nature reserves which also have some bushman paintings. Enquiries for all these activities can be made at the local information centres in Clarens.
