Package Tour - 9 Day Hogsback, Lesotho,Drakensberg Hiking UMZAD

Categories: Birdwatching / Hiking / Self Drive

Enjoy a participation camping and hiking tour in the awesome, majestic Amatole, Drakensberg and Lesotho Mountains. Leave the busy cities and release your soul to nature in this beautiful area of Southern Africa The best time to enjoy the full beauty and splendour of these incredible mountain ranges is in Spring and Summer which is November to April. Although these are generally the best times of the year the rainfall will be the most important as this will bring out the greenness, flowers and of course the waterfalls and rivers are full. This is also an extremely hot and humid time in South Africa and one generally gets to experience the most incredible afternoon thunderstorms in the Drakensberg. Didima, in Drakensberg, is named after them, it meaning, Rolling Thunder. May to October is a lot colder at night but generally still warm during the day. Night time temperatures can drop to around the 0 degrees and during the day reach up to mid 20's. In the evenings during any season you will be able to enjoy incredible star gazing with the clear night skies with or without a telescope. These areas are enjoyable at any time of the year.
