The zimbabwean side is the best side to view the waterfall from, as 1400 meters of the waterfall is on the Zimbabwean side, as well as the main falls. Therefore there is water throughout the year, where the Zambian side is only 300 meters of the 1700 meters, and has no water during the dry months. You have a great opportunity to see animals coming down to the river for a drink, as well as a reasonable variety of bird life.
