Shoestring Eco Nature Tours

Shoestring Travel is a nature and adventure company operated by Jacki Van Rensburg (a lover of the outdoors and sailing) and Deon Nel (a huge nature enthusiast). Our mission is to bring people back to their roots. We want you to experience real adventure, enjoy a holiday in the luxury of tented camping, sit around big African fires, BBQ with friends and family, sleep under the stars and explore the vast and remote areas of South Africa.

To give you an idea of the service we offer - we are a small company and our focus is on individual service. We like to think we are different than the big international agencies in that all our customers can be assured of attentive, individual service - before and after making a booking. We try to be as flexible as possible with our itineraries.

We also specialize in sailing and beach holidays in South Africa. Soon to come a unique and brand new concept of tented accommodation on a dhow type vessel where you will sail along the waters of the West Coast shorelines in and around the Langebaan lagoon. You will overnight on the dhow or stay at various secluded, rustic, beach accommodations. Jacki will take you to unusual locations, where you soak up the rich, natural beauty of the wild flowers, or relax and kick back on a sunset cruises and explore unseen areas, all from the comfort of the dhow. Or just enjoy and hike in our beautiful nature reserves surrounding our Langebaan lagoon.

We offer flower tours in Namaqualand and something different - Flower and Oyster Tour. A combination of a half day flower tour in West Coast National Park followed by half day visit to an Oyster farm in Saldanha.

For those who seek bush adventure and water experiences in the wild, we also run canoe & tiger fishing safaris on the Zambezi River, either in Zambia or Zimbabwe. You start off your safari in Vic Falls then by charter plane visit Kariba where you stay in rustic, chalets at Rhino Safari Camp, located along the shoreline of Lake Kariba & surrounded by the majestic and awesome mountains of the Matusadona National Park. Spend a few nights here then head off to Chirundu for your canoe adventure of a lifetime.

Self drive, luxury or camping safaris are also available in Botswana, Zambia and the mighty Namibian desert. Nothing too big or too small for your shoestring budget.
