This is the classic 5 day Garden Route Tour which includes the Little Caroo with the ostrich capitol Oudtshoorn and the beautiful coastline with Knysna, Plettenberg Bay and the Tsitsikamma National Park. On the tour you will not only see all the normal tourist attractions in the Little Karoo and along the Garden Route, but also you will drive the breathtaking Swartberg Pass and Meiringspoort. Moreover, on the way back to Somerset West/Cape Town you will visit the southernmost tip of Africa, the Cape Agulhas.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Somerset West or Cape Town to Oudtshoorn
Travel via Paarl and the du Toits Kloof Pass to Worcester, wine tasting along the Robertson Wine Route. Via Montagu, Barrydale, Ladismith and Calitzdorp (Route 62) to Oudtshoorn.

Overnight: Guest House in Oudtshoorn

Day 2: Oudtshoorn to Klaarstrom
At first visit the Cango Wildlife Ranch with big cats, crocodiles and much more. Afterwards you will enjoy the famous Cango Caves. Highlight of the day is the drive via the breathtaking Swartberg Pass to Prince Albert. Drive through the beautiful Prince Albert Valley up into the mountains again. Overnight stay on a working ostrich- flower and wine farm. A traditional South African dinner by candlelight will be served. This tour is one of the most beautiful and diversified day tours in the Western Cape

Overnight: Wilgemond Farm in the Swartberg Mountains

Day 3: Klaarstrom to Knysna
Scenic drive through Meiringspoort canyon and via the Outeniqua Pass to George. Travel along the coastline through Wilderness and the Lake District further to Knysna. In the afternoon time to stroll around at the Waterfront. Drive to the Eastern Head view point, boat trip on the Knysna Lagoon.

Overnight: Guest House in Knysna

Day 4: Knysna
Travel along the N2 via Plettenberg Bay to the Tsitsikamma National Park. Stop at the Bloukrans Bridge and watch or even do bungee jumping. With 216 m it is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Later you will visit Storms River Mouth in the Tsitsikamma N.P. and have a walk to the 70 m swing bridge over the river mouth. Next stops will be the Paul Sauer Bridge and the 800 years old ‘Big Tree’. On the way back explore the old R 102, a scenic drive through two canyons to Natures Valley (if open). In Plett you will have the opportunity for a beach walk or to swim in the Indian Ocean.

Day 5: Knysna to Somerset West or Cape Town
Drive to Mossel Bay and visit the Post Tree and Diaz Museum. The next stop will be in Swellendam, the third oldest town in South Africa. From here travel through the beautiful Overberg Region to Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa. From here you will go back to Somerset West/Cape Town via Bredasdorp and Caledon.
