How lucky can one be?? Not having done anything like this before, my advertising agency put together an incentive trip plan as part of a major campaign, and I had to rely on the internet to find a reliable supplier thousands of miles away.
Luckily I came across Mervyn Sparks!! Not being completely at ease with the idea of conducting business with someone over the internet, I must say that my discomfort disappeared rather quickly as Mervyn continued to respond to all queries timely and took all my phone calls, even when we had to turn everything upside down from our side and change all the dates, he stayed in communication with us, and handled everything beautifully.
Mervyn put together a truly unforgettable experience for all 9 of us, with absolutely everything speaking of professionalism and care. Mervyn's easy-going personality made for a relaxing and fun week down in the Western Cape.

Garden Route Tour (July 2009)
Mr. Mervyn Sparks, the proprietor of Evergreen Excursions, is a first-class tour guide. Our family (2 teenagers and 2 adults) recently returned from one of Mervyn's well-designed trips from Cape Town to Tsitsikamma via Oudtshoorn, Mosselbai, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay. What a luxury it was to be whisked around in Mervyn's comfortable van with his expert commentary about the political and natural history of South Africa providing a fascinating glimpse into this amazing country!
We had good "vibes" about Mervyn from the very beginning of our communications with him - he responded to all our questions in a timely, polite and intelligent manner which indicated that he had actually carefully considered our emails. He was always prompt, courteous, unobtrusive, and very knowledgeable about all things South African. Mervyn had an uncanny ability to glean from our conversations exactly what we would most want to see and do even when we didn't completely know ourselves. He was also an excellent driver!
Our 13 year old son, when asked to name his favorite part of our 3 week trip (which included a fabulous week long safari in a private game park near Kruger) unhesitatingly chose the Garden Route week with Mervyn as the highlight for him - high praise indeed! In our short time with Mervyn, he became an honorary member of our family, and we will miss traveling with him.
