Since the inception of the Bosman Weekend it has become a regular event on the literary lover's calendar. The annual event will take place in the sleepy North West town of Groot Marico and began in 1993 to celebrate one of South Africa’s best known authors, Herman Charles Bosman who wrote many fabulous stories about the area and its people.
The festivities are mainly centred round the Herman Charles Bosman Museum (an exact replica of the school where he taught). There will be lots of live acts and performances paying tribute to Bosman’s work, including dancers, musician and poets with performances taking place at the amphitheatre, the local church and on a guest farm in the Marico Valley.
