Family Strengths Expo 2009

In celebration of the 15th Anniversary of the International Year of the Family (IYF) the Department of Social Development, in collaboration with other government departments and civil society organisations, will be hosting a 3 day Family Expo.

This Family Expo will be a developmental embracing process and project that aims at reinforcing awareness; promotion of positive parenting, healthy balanced family life, moral regeneration and positive behaviour.

The Family Expo will focus on the following objectives:
• Deepening dialogues and understanding through one-on-one consultations, groups, seminars on a variety of issues and topics such as positive parenting, Substance Abuse, Older Person's programmes, Disability Programmes, etc
• Building a sense of Family and Community
• Strengthening community based assets and initiatives and embracing the children and family safety net
• Deepening knowledge through analysis of audio visual material screening
• Social cohesion through Poetry, Song and Dance
• And more...
