Henri House lies in the centre of Grahamstown's educational hub in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. Visitors to Henri House find themselves within walking distance to Rhodes University, all private schools, shops and amenities. Including over 52 Churches for which Grahamstown is well known for as the “City of the Saints”. The main house, built in 1856, is believed to have been originally built for the Rector of Christ Church, which lies just around the corner. FACILITIESThe common area, including dining room and lounge, features original 1856 fittings with Yellowwood floors and sash windows and high ceilings. This area is often utilised for small conferences or small functions. A natural plunge pool is available to cool off in those hot summer days. Henri House is also known for its beautiful grounds giving our visitors that peaceful tranquil ambience. ACCOMMODATIONHenri House has 7 rooms that can accommodate 16 persons comfortably. One of the unique qualities of the Henri House' rooms is their spaciousness, which allows breakfast to be served in the privacy of 4 of the guest's room. The other 3 rooms the guest’s breakfast is served in the luxury dinning room. • 5 rooms are en-suite. • 2 rooms share a private bathroom. • Of the 7 rooms, four have their own private entrances as well as being self-contained. • Most rooms come with a safe, fridge, microwave and toaster. • Selection of teas and coffee are provided for In all the rooms. • All rooms are equipped with TV with M-Net. • All rooms are equipped with heaters, fans and hairdryers. • Secure off road parking is provided. • Children of all ages are welcome. • Baby Sitting Services can be arranged. • Laundry Service available. • Office facilities including fax and printing are available. • Wireless Internet access is available on request. BREAKFAST & DININGA very substantial Continental breakfast is included in the rates. Cooked breakfasts and dinners are available on request at an additional cost. DIRECTIONS: Directions from the N2 Proceed down the hill and take a left turn into Somerset St. at the first set of traffic lights. Proceed past the 4-way stop on High St. (Rhodes University Arch on your left opposite Maxwell’s Restaurant) Proceed past the 4-way stop on New St. (Opposite Debonair’s Pizzeria). At the next 4-way stop turn right on African St. Proceed past the Pepper grove Mall on your right and past the BP service station on your left. Proceed straight over the mini-roundabout and take the second left turn into Henri St. Proceed approximately 500 metres up Henry St. until the Stop-sign on Fitzroy St. Henri House is a white double story house on your right hand side.
