Deer Park Guest House offers affordable accommodation, set on 5 acres of park land amongst indigenous Milkwood trees. Deer Park is part of the Chelsea Conservancy area. This private property has been opened to travelers and tourists, seeking a quiet restful and safe place away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

We are a mere 10 min from Port Elizabeth Airport and all the major shopping centre’s Walmer Park, Moffett on Main and Kings Court Mall. We are only a 2km drive to Sardinia Bay's beautiful safe sandy beach and for day visits to malaria free Addo National Park and private game reserves. We offer a leisurely atmosphere, and friendly hospitality. Accommodation


Deer Park Guest House offers three rooms all of which have on suite bathrooms. Two are family rooms with a double and single bed. All our bedrooms have wonderful views over looking the garden.

All rooms have the following amenities: wall safe, clock radio, hair dryer, tea / and coffee facilities, ceiling fan to cool our warm summer days, heater panels for our mild winters. Television, with access to DSTV, plus local channels. We also offer secure parking for your vehicle, with gated access to Deer Park.

Self Catering
Our self catering unit sleeps four. It is fully equipped with an open plan kitchen. The lounge is furnished with a sleeper couch and DStv. The bedroom has one double and one single bunk bed and there is an en-suite shower room. Safe parking is provided behind a remote controlled gate. The unit is quite private with its own entrance, garden and braai area.

We offer beautiful scenery, a tranquil and peaceful environment with fresh country air. Our property is full of indigenous plants and Milkwood trees, and home to a mountain tortoise as well as a great variety of bird life we also have a small herd of five bonsmara cattle. Bonny and Clyde have just had a new addition to their family a little bull calf Charlie, born on 18/11/2009. Thande our other cow is due to give birth any time we are hoping for a Christmas baby we may have a herd of six by 2010.

Breakfast and Dining


Apart from our famous farmhouse breakfast (included in our room rates) we also offer a delicious home cooked dinner on request all our vegetables are organically grown in our vegetable garden. Our Farmhouse breakfast is served in the Breakfast Room (or on the deck weather permitting) overlooking the garden with an abundance of bird life.

World Heritage Site of the Cape Floral Region is one of the richest areas for plants in the world it represents less than 0.5% of the area of Africa but is home to nearly 20% of the Continents Flora. The site displays outstanding ecological and biological processes associated with the Fynbos vegetation which is unique to the Cape Floral Region. It has been identified as one of the world’s biodiversity hot spots and is the richest areas for plants in the World.

Bavianskloof is a unique predator conservation area that conservation agency’s believe that significant persecution of the Leopard still occurs in the Western Area of the Eastern Cape. The Leopard and Predator Project will aim to address the persecution of predators and the Leopard in particular by establishing a rescue and rehabilitation centre. The Cape Floral and Bavainskloof are only 45mim drive from Deer Park Guest House.

Other nearby attractions are the Boardwalk and Casino, Restaurants and Cinema, at Walmer Park Shopping Centre.
