There are few little Gems still left where it is safe to walk and cycle, far away from the hustle yet close enough to Shopping mall should you need anything. The beauty and tranquility of the area make it a natures paradise. The Whales can be seen right through the year as they calve in St Helena bay.
The most beautiful season is in Winter from May to September when the flowers are in season. It is also not too cold and although you have a few rainy days here and there, the weather is balmy and the wind is fairly quiet. If it is cold, get under a blanket with a log fire and have some great wines from the area, or get into the car and visit nearby towns and just explore. It is lush green in winter. The summers are hot and although windy it is still a perfect destination to get to being close to Cape Town 140km.
A great place to kick back and unwind. There is very little to do in the town itself besides relax, take long walks while admiring the waves crashing against the rocks on the beach, and eat delicious seafood ... Langebaan is a short (ish) drive away and there's lots to do there if you'd like to take a break from all of the relaxation.
