Lekker venue for concerts - we went to Chilli Peppers in Feb and the vibe was unreal. You must do the fan walk on a concert day. If you're planning on grabbing a bite before the concert stay away from Somerset Road because it's packed. You can grab a boerie roll on the walk up from the train station and some are even open after the concert. When a concert isn't happening, make a booking at El Burro for some delish Mexican fair.
Its a great place to stay if you are looking for a fun time with lots of nightlife and partying. If you want a peaceful, quiet break, don't stay here, rather stay in Mouillie Point or in the suburbs and come here at night to sample the great reestaurants and party atmosphere. During the day, visit the outstanding Biodiversity showcase gardens - they really are quite spectacular. The shopping is great here too - cape quarter or the V&A is right at your doorstep. Also go check out the great Stadium they built for the World Cup. You can't miss it :)
I love Green Point. It has everything, from great cafes and resturants to bars and clubs. Perfect for lunch in the day or a good night out. I like that it is so near to the sea, there are great markets to visit and it is close to the waterfront and seapoint. A definite must visit and an ideal location if you are looking for somewhere in the area to stay the night, its very central.
Green Point is really central to all great must sees of the Mother City. Close to Table Mountain, restaurants, beaches, wine routes, malls.
