I adore a little visit to Franschhoek, if it is just for the day to enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of the fantastic restaurants, a cheeky weekend breakaway or wine tasting with friends - it is always a memorable experience. If you haven't been, you should make a plan to get there soon.

Franschhoek is possibly my favourite weekend-away spot. It's just 45 minutes drive from Cape Town to the country and what gorgeous countryside ... mountains, vineyards, sublime restaurants and wine estates ... need I say more? A must visit!

I love Franschhoek! Whether its during the hot summer months, the chilly months of winter (you're sure to spot snow-capped mountains), for a al-fresco leisurely lunch or to join in the Bastille Day festivities its always a great place to visit. It really is a quick drive from Cape Town ... but you could be a world away.
