Visitor Reviews of Fish Hoek, False Bay

Review by: Lynn, Cape Town (visited: March 2011)

From high on the slopes of the mountains surrounding Fish Hoek, Cape Town, South Africa, you have uninterrupted views of the magnificent False Bay, quaint Fish Hoek, and the Hottentots Mountains. Fish Hoek boasts one of Cape Towns finest and secure beaches reaching 18 degrees in the summer with no rip currents.

Some of Cape Towns finest restaurants are within a 10 min drive as is Simon’s Town featuring Boulders Beach and the penguins. No need to travel, enjoy the whales from approx. August to October each year frolicking in False Bay.

The Trek Fisherman – a must to watch them perform their century old way of fishing on Fish Hoek beach, passed down from generation to generation. Fresh fish can be purchased from their boats on the beach. A visit to Fish Hoek is a must.
