For anyone seeking a glimpse of every day Africa as they dash between the Luxury lodges and safaris, Hazyview balances a touristy vibe with real people going about their daily lives. There's Perry's Bridge for a walkabout from the chocolatier and Belgian baker, to quality shops selling Rogue wares, furnishings, silk scarves, curios and bath spa treats. There are excellent dining spots from Kuka to Toppellinos, from The Pioneers Grill and the Fish restaurant as well as an abundance of lodges, hotels, B&Bs and adventure centres so you will not run short of things to do - rain or shine! It's a perfectly placed spot to head into Kruger Park at a choice of 2 gates or to go further afield, to Hoedspruit, White River, Nelspruit or Sabie and Graskop.
We found Hazyview to be a teriffic place to base ourselves in as we were close to the major attractions of the Panorama Route as well it has a great (warm) climate and VERY friendly people who went out of their way to make us tourists feel welcome! AND we were so centrally located to Kruger National Park and Blyde River Canyon.
There are some great self drive routes you can do in the area that will have you exploring the area for days on end. Wonderful culture here too. We simply love Hazyview and its people and come back every year! Looking forward to the next!
