I love Umhlanga! The promenade is fabulous for walks along the beachfront, there are plenty of shops, restaurants and coffee places to choose from and the beaches are just beautiful.
I had SUCH a jol in Umhlanga with friends over the festive season. It was my first time in this part of the country and I really enjoyed it. Spent most of my time on or near the beach working on my tan.
There's no place like Umhlanga! The beaches are A-MA-ZING!!
Umhlanga is an aweosme palce to visit, loved it there
We had two wonderful nights at the Holdiay Inn Express in Umhlanga in early February. Our hotel was situated on the hill (not on the beach front) and provided us with panaromic views of the ocean. We counted up to 15 ships on the sea at one time!
Although not on the beach front, the hotel was an easy downhill walk tothe beach, but it would have been a tough slog uphill! Happily, between the hotel and beach, there was a delightful road filled with restaurants to suit all desires so we stopped off there often All our meals were most delicious and the service was extremely friendly. We loved the sidewalk cafe atmosphere that invited us to spend long evenings outdoors.
Umhlanga Municpality needs to be complimented for the well thought out and maintained walkway along the beach front. There was plenty of space for the strollers to stroll, the joggers to jog past, and the lazy to sit on the benches and enjoy the sunset. The beaches were clean, and the surrounding gardens and ablutionswere well maintained - a pleasant change from the filthy Durban breach front. This was a great two-day getaway.
