South African Turtle Tours

"As an urban resident who has an embarrassing affinity for nature shows, when we were deciding where to holiday this year, I pushed and pushed for South Africa until I got my way. Mostly I wanted to see the turtles - specifically The Loggerhead turtles. If I had gotten my full way, we would have gone for the full sixty day reproduction cycle of the loggerhead - from the laying of eggs on the beach to the hatching of the eggs to the watching of the baby turtles making their way back into the ocean.

We decided to spend the money and book a tour package with a well know Tour Operator. We had to add the turtle tour as an extra sort of side trip, but it was worth it. The turtles are endangered and as we are far from being experienced turtle trackers we didn’t want to mess with
