You’re only five minutes from the centre of the Mother City, yet this much sought after suburb, submerged in the shadow of impressive pine trees, manages to allude to country living, with beautiful old homes and the feeling of being suspended above and away from the hub and bustle of Cape Town.

Highlands Estate is close to everything in Cape Town. You’re minutes away from the Table Mountain Nature Reserve, with some well loved mountain and forest walks, and the cableway to the top of the mountain. The popular and trendy beaches of the Atlantic, including Clifton and Camps Bay, are only a few minutes’ drive from here, and the centre of town, its many museums and galleries and buildings of architectural value, as well as vibrant Long Street, are also easily reached.

The V&A Waterfront is about 10 minutes from Highlands Estate, and from here you can catch an open-top bus around the city, visit the Two Ocean Aquarium, catch a ferry across to Robben Island or shop ‘til you drop at the shopping mall. If it’s wine tasting you’re after, then Constantia’s Wine Route, one of the oldest appellation areas in the Cape, is just 20 minutes’ drive.
