Century City is a 250 ha suburb of of Blaauwberg in Cape Town. It is a city within a city ideally situated along the N1 in the very heart of the greater Cape Town metropolis. It combines office, residential, retail and leisure opportunities on an extraordinary scale in an environment that responds to the lifestyle demands and priorities of today's society and hustle and bustle.
The suburb boasts one of the biggest and most prestigious shopping malls known as Canal Walk. This is the largest regional shopping centre in Africa, with an enormous range of shops, restaurants, cinemas and a superb bird conservation area known as Intaka Island. Century City is also home to the thrilling Ratanga Junction theme Park. This is South Africa's first full-scale theme park. Ratanga Junction features over 30 attractions, the most exciting being the Cobra roller coaster. There are also plenty of tamer rides for children and the less adventurous adults. The park also boasts numerous restaurants and bars as well as a variety of evening entertainment in the grand hall, theatre rooms and cinemas. Intake Island is an award winning 16ha wetlands conservation area that is rich in birdlife and indigenous plants. It comprises 8ha of ecologically sensitive seasonal pans that are among the last remaining of their kind, and 8ha of reconstructed wetlands that serve to cleanse the water in the 6km of navigable canals that link the different elements of Century City.
For the golf fanatics, take a trip to the Golf Fanatics Golf Village located on the N1 Precinct. Golf Fanatics offers a complete programme for refining your golf game and is any golfer’s ideal hotspot.
Century City boasts approximately 6 500 parking bays and those who travel by public transport will find a comprehensive bus and mini-bus taxi interchange with services that extends to most areas within Cape Town. Century City is rather a unique mix of retail and residential in a wetland reserve. It is the ideal setting to live, shop, work and play and boasts a variety of activities to suit all tastes.
