Situated in the south eastern corner of Mpumalanga lies the picturesque town of Piet Retief. Surrounded by beautiful plantations of Bluegum and Wattle trees, Piet Retief is a place where travellers can relax before carrying on with their journey to Pongola and the North Coast beaches of Kwazulu Natal.

Fishing is another great way to spend your time here in Piet Retief. The dams, rivers and streams in the area are well-stocked with indigenous yellowtail and Natal yellowfin. This offers excellent fly and coarse fishing that will make any angler excited to cast his line.
