Mngcibe, Wild Coast

On the eastern coast of South Africa, on the breath-taking coastline of the Transkei is the little area of Mngcibe. This entire area, known as the Wild Coast, is the Eastern Cape destination of choice for surfers, campers, hikers and others from all over the world. Being situated north of Coffee Bay means that Mngcibe is frequented by road-trippers and backpackers that are making the exploration of Africa the adventure of their lifetime.

The overwhelming ambience of Mngcibe is one of serenity and relaxation. This is created by the crisp, clear air and water, coupled with the exquisite vistas of mountains, rolling grasslands and the turquoise of the Indian Ocean. These promise the perfect backdrop to any honeymoon or holiday.

Mngcibe is a rural area in which seafront cottages and informal farmlands create a very special countryside; one that resonates with visitors and lures them back year after year.

Towns close to Mngcibe, in addition to Coffee Bay, include Barkly East, Lady Grey, Mazeppa Bay, Mbotyi, and the gorgeous Port St Johns.
