Did you know? Jeffrey’s Bay is South Africa's favourite and most famous surfing destination.

If you want to go boardsailing in the glorious Eastern Cape, Algoa Bay has 40 km of magnificent beaches, providing a sheltered environment for swimming, surfing, scuba diving, snorkelling, sailing and boardsailing. The beach is linked to Happy Valley by a subway.

The sport of windsurfing is a cross between surfing and boat sailing. Also referred to as boardsailing, this water sport originated in Europe in the 1970s. Due to its explosive popularity in the 80's, the sport was introduced in the 1984 Olympics to give it a global profile.

Board Sailing has since evolved world-wide with the help of modern technology in both teaching techniques and the manufacture of more efficient boards and sails. There are several different levels and types of windsurfing that are based on wave structure, wind speed and board and sail sizes.
